Strategy is the choice of where to compete and what to give up. Positioning is how that choice is communicated to the people you want.
Both are decisions, not documents. If a strategy document does not name a trade-off, no strategy has been made.

The team disagreed about where to aim. One view was to widen out beyond product managers to professional workers of every kind, since the underlying need is much the same. The other was to stay narrow: founders repeatedly turn out to lack product management experience, so reaching them early in their learning opens a path into the service business later.
They stayed narrow. Whichever side you find more convincing, the part worth copying is that the choice was written down as a trade-off with a reason attached, and that one of the two options was genuinely given up. A strategy nobody argued about is usually a strategy nobody made.
